Rodeo de Santa Fe

The Amazing Mudd!

One of my all time favorite rodeos, Rodeo de Santa Fe is an annual event that I have attended since I was literally born! It was a tremendous honor to be part of the production and do my queenly duties carrying sponsor flags and shagging cattle. The Committee and Queen Coordinator were so welcoming and I had the best time! I will admit it rained...oh yes...it flat out RAINED!  My darling mare Mudd did an awful good job in the mud though, I think her name predisposed her to it!

Miss Rodeo Nebraska Pageant

Kasie and I at our Host Home

I flew into Denver and was graciously greeted by Kasie Pigg, Miss Rodeo Colorado and we began our big journey to North Platte, Nebraska. We arrived safe and sound and without coat. Boy! Coming from a 95 degree summer in the Land of Enchantment into a northern thunderstorm is not what I had expected! So we headed on down to the local western store and bought some coats! Chauffeured by the always hospitable Carl and Kathy Wilkinson, we were ready to brave the elements. The evening kicked off with a dinner, live aution and then a wild, and I do mean WILD stick horse rodeo! I am pretty sure I have the battle scars to prove it but it was worth the pain in the end to come in reserve champion team! Go Golden Girls!!! The rest of the week was filled with appearances, a glamorous Fashion Show and the first performance of the rodeo. It finally warmed up and I got to enjoy the amazing expanses of grassland...wow! Kasie and I had the best host family! Thank you to the Steger Family for opening your home to us!  Then we were Colorado bound....straight to the Grieve's Family door where we spent the night. Thank you Mr. & Mrs. Grieve for allowing me to stay with you! What an awesome trip and what wonderful people!

Miss Rodeo New Mexico Pageant

The Miss Rodeo New Mexico Pageant Organization put on another wonderful contest this year! We had a group of talented contestants paired with great judges. The week was filled with appearances around Clovis, Miss Rodeo America Kelli Jackson and Miss Rodeo Arizona Destiny Vaught were my partners in crime along with MRNM Teen Bethany Sweat (The new Lincoln County Queen! Congrats!), MRNM Princess Kyla Myers, Lil' Miss RNM DeeAnn Guthrie, and the Bernalillo County Dutchess Ashlee Murray. I could not ask for a better group of friends! I provided the Miss contestants draw horses, who only decided to be a little squirrley that day! They cowgirled up and sure got the job done. The three Pioneer Day Rodeo Performances were great. The State Queens carried sponsor flags, with only a few mishaps (on my part...haha), but overall was a fabulous time! I had fun and time sure flew, before I knew it we were naming my successor. I am so happy to announce that Miss Kaycee McDaniel is Miss Rodeo New Mexico 2011! Erin Arko was crowned MRNM Teen, Katie Creager MRNM Princess and Teghann Gonzales is Lil' Miss RNM.
